The Shack by William P. Young.  This is a book that is getting a very wide reading. Some find it controversial, but it comes with high praise from Eugene Peterson and many others. I’m reading it and find it very confirming though definitely not an easy subject matter. I think it would lend itself well to a book discussion group.

Walking with God: Talk to Him, Hear from Him. Really.  New from John Eldredge. Jim has started this as a book study and says it is a great read.

Invitation to Solitude: Experiencing God’s Transforming Presence. Ruth Haley Barton, a well known spiritual director has written this one to help people know the “rest appropriate for the people of God”.   Dallas Willard wrote the foreward. Awesome and very readable.

Lords of the Earth by Don Richardson (author of  Peace Child).  This is the story of missionaries Stan and Pat Dale and their ministry among the Yali of Indonesia.
