Children's Ministry

"Kid’s Connection" exists to provide wonderful opportunities for our children to grow in Christ, socialize in a loving environment, and receive Christian mentoring from loving adult volunteers.  Through Sunday School, VBS and special events, the children receive opportunities to learn of their Lord Jesus Christ.  Kid's Connection is offered at both the 8:30 and 11:00 service.

Our Programs:

  • The Old Testament in Two Years:  In August 2007, we began a new curriculum for our children in "Kid's Connection".  We began going through the Old Testament from Genesis through Malachi.  We are excited about the fact that starting with the nursery through the 5th grade all our kids learning the same lessons in an age appropriate manner.  Families will be able to discuss and apply what their children are learning no matter their age.
  • Bright Lights:  This is an amazing opportunity for our middle school aged girls.  "Bright Lights" is a discipleship course for girls that seeks to instill lessons they will be able to carry with them and apply to their everyday lives.  It will prove to be a wonderful experience for your daughter.  Please join us in the "Kid's Cove" during the 11:00 service.
  • Sons of Thunder:  We are excited about this amazing opportunity for our middle school aged boys.  This class will focus on foundational Christian principles.  These lessons will prove to be applicable to the everyday lives of its participants and challenge them to grow in their faith.  Please join us in the "Kid's Cafe" during the 11:00 service.
  • Vacation Bible School:  Our week long summer program where children ages 4 through the 5th grade have the opportunity to explore different Christian curriculums centered around various Biblical lessons.  Arts & Crafts, music, snack, and physical activities along with Bible focus sessions and Christian based experiments are offered in a loving and nurturing environment.  Dates are announced by the beginning of summer.

Locations:

  • Nursery:  The nursery is located across from the Resource Center and is available to provide excellent care for infants through the age of 2.  Through age appropriate lessons and activities, even our littlest ones are presented with Biblical truths.  This service is available at both the 8:30 and 11:00 services.
  • Wonder Room:  The "Wonder Room" is located upstairs and is for our children ages 3 to 5.  Children will learn through Bible lessons, hands-on activities, a time of worship through music, and crafts.  This service is available during both the 8:30 and 11:00 services.
  • Kid's Cove:  The "Kid's Cove" is located downstairs in the Undercroft and classes are available for children in grades kindergarten through the 5th grade.  Each age group begins with small group discussion and fellowship followed by worship through music and Bibles lessons.  This service is availble during the 11:00 service.  Registration begins at 10:50.
  • Kid's Cafe:  The "Kid's Cafe" is located downstairs by the English Speaking Center.  Our middle school students will meet here to worship and fellowship with each other.  This service is availble during the 11:00 service.

The Pilgrim’s Progress

This summer we will combine our middle school programs "Bright Lights" and "Sons of Thunder" to read the timeless classic book, The Pilgrim's Progress written by: John Bunyan.  Pilgrim's Progress is an allegory of a Christian's journey (here represented by a character call "Christian") from the "City of Destruction".  Along the way he visits such locations as the Slouth of Despond, Vanity Fair, the Doubting Castle, and the Valley of the Shadow of Death.  This is a must read for all Christians who are on a spiritual path in a world of temptations.  Join us in the Kid’s Café at the 11:00 service.  This course begins May 25, 2008.  For more information contact Rachel Degenhart at Rachel@stclements.com.
